Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: Nothing. Registration is FREE.

Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
A: No. You can browse and search ads without registering. You should still register, to save time, as the site will remember various preferences for you. If you want to create ads, you will need to register. Registration is FREE.

Q: Why does the registration process include a confirmation email?
A: This is for your security. This security step ensures that you, and only you, are using your email address on TheMichiganClassifiedAds.com web site.

Q: How Much Do Ads Cost?
A: All standard classified ads in our site are FREE! Free ads include photos. You can upgrade your ad with additional features if you like. There is a cost for additional features. Please reference the 'Pricing' menu for additional costs on ad features.

Q: How Long Does an Ad Run?
A: Ads will vary in run time. You decide how long to run your ad. For more information, please reference the 'Pricing' menu item for the category in which you wish to run your ad.

Q: Do I Have to Register to Create Ads?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create ads. Registration is free and easy. To Register, just click on the 'Register' menu item on top of any page.

Q: I created an ad, but it does not show up in search results. Why?
A: You need to run your ad. Go to My Account and click on Run ad to the left of the ad you wish to run. All basic ads will be approved before running. We approve basic ads to ensure TheMichiganClassifiedAds.com stays free of inappropriate content. We intend to provide a community and family oriented site. For Featured Ads, you will be asked for your credit card information, and your ad will run as soon as your payment is processed.

Q: I sold my stuff. How do I stop my ad from running?
A: From the My Account page, click on the Stop link to the left of the ad.

Q: What Category Should I Put My Ad In?
A: If your item does not fit into a specific category listed, choose other.

Q: What region should I put my ad in?
A: The region you live in. By default the region will be the region you specified on your profile when you registered, but you can change this at any time.

Q: Will my ad be visible in other regions?
A: Yes. All ads are visible in any region. The system will, however, always show ads in the home region first, then ads outside your home region.

Q: Why don't I see all of my ads when I go to 'My Account'?
A: Viewing adds in 'My Account' will show you all of your adds in the add area for which you are currently viewing (Community, Classifieds, Real Estate, Jobs, or Vehicles). You must go to 'My Account' in each area to view your ads in those areas.

Q: How do I report offensive ads?
A: To report offensive material or ads, click on the 'Contact Us' button and email us the catagory in which the offensive material appears. We appreciate your help in keeping this site a community based forum.

Q: I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear on your site. What should I do?
A: Your personal information is not required. You can also keep your email address private. Please reference your profile from the 'My Account' page. Your profile contains a number of options to protect your privacy.

Q: If all my information is private how can a buyer contact me?
A: When your ad appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This seller has chosen to remain private. You may contact this seller via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective buyer completes an on-line form and the system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective buyer.

Q: How Do Regions Work?
A: TheMichiganClassifiedAds.com covers the state of Michigan which has been divided into metropolitan areas. When you register or create ads, you select a region. When you browse ads, ads in your region will be shown first. When you search for ads, ads in your region will be shown first.

Q: I don't see my city listed. What region should I choose?
A: Choose the city in which you live or the closest city to you.
